CJC-1295 No DAC vs DAC: What the Difference Is

What "CJC-1295 no DAC" means, how it differs from the DAC form, and how to check which one a certificate describes.

The short answer

"CJC-1295 no DAC" is the common trade name for modified GRF(1-29): a 29-amino-acid analogue of growth hormone-releasing hormone (GHRH) with no drug affinity complex (DAC) attached. The original CJC-1295 carries that DAC linker. The two are different molecules, with different masses and very different published behaviour, and listings routinely blur them.

Our CJC-1295 + Ipamorelin blend uses the no-DAC form.

No DAC versus with DAC

Designed to bind albuminNoYes

The DAC is what makes the long-acting form long-acting. It is designed to bind serum albumin, and in a human pharmacokinetic study of the DAC form the estimated half-life was 5.8 to 8.1 days (Teichman et al.). Unmodified GHRH(1-29) is cleared in minutes. The four substitutions in the no-DAC form are there to resist enzymatic breakdown, not to add albumin binding.

Those human data describe the DAC form only. They say nothing certain about the no-DAC peptide.

Why the labels get mixed up

Retail listings often write "CJC-1295" with no qualifier, and some label the DAC form as no DAC or the reverse. Three checks settle it:

  • •The name on the certificate. It should say DAC or no DAC explicitly.
  • •The measured mass. A figure near 3,368 Da is the no-DAC peptide. A figure near 3,647 Da is the DAC form.
  • •The batch number. The one on the vial must match the one on the report.

A listing that cannot say which form it supplies is not documenting its own material. The certificate for our blend quantifies each component separately: see batch 100245 in the COA library and the CJC-1295 + Ipamorelin 10mg product page.
